INFORMATIONThe biggest source of information on Lindfield used by respondents is the local free paper. (See figure 5 over page). The majority, 88%, thought the amount of information available about what's going on in Lindfield was “good” or “reasonable”, with only 7% describing it as “poor”. Newsletter 776 people responded to the question, what would you like to see in a Parish Newsletter. A full breakdown of the responses is as follows:

One person suggested “a little more action eg. on postcodes - maybe a little civil disobedience organised.” Five mentioned late delivery of the newsletter. Two people suggested we do not need a newsletter Information neededMost comments were asking for general information, for example on safe cycling routes or bus timetables. Four mentioned the need for a museum or local archive. Two mentioned a website and one wanted a touch screen information system. Just under half (47%) of those responding thought that visitors need more information about Lindfield. 18% disagreed. One third (33%) had no opinion. The most common specific information services thought to be needed were footpath maps and a local information point. A full breakdown is shown below. DirectoryNine out of ten people had got a copy of the Directory and Year Book (diary). Of those who had got one, over half (53%) use it as a diary and most (81%) use it as a source of information. It is also used by some as a gift or a memento. A few people added comments about the diary, five saying it was useful, two saying the 2000 edition was too bulky and three who do not use it. Figure 5
