DEPUTY PARISH CLERK

Our current Deputy Clerk is being promoted and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Deputy Parish Clerk to Lindfield Parish Council. The job entails preparation for, attendance at and following up decisions made at meetings of the Council, assisting members of the public with general enquiries and obtaining rail and bus passes plus a variety of other tasks, under the guidance of the Parish Clerk. The successful applicant will need to be computer literate, flexible and must be prepared to deputise for the Parish Clerk during periods of absence. Some evening work will be required. The job is based in the Parish Office in Denmans Lane, Lindfield.
Remuneration will be in accordance with the scale recommended by the National Association of Local Councils – currently 75% of LC2 29, pro rata for 20 hours. Ideally we are looking for someone to commence no later than 1 April 2008. Closing date for applications is Friday, 22 February 2008. Interviews will be held week commencing 3 March.
